Bring your own AI

Run your roster from ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot.

Connect the AI account your team already pays for. It reads your real roster, leave and timesheets, and makes changes only when you let it, under the same award rules as the app.

Who's off on Friday, and can anyone cover Mia's 6am open at Bondi?

Checked who’s offFound cover

Mia and Tom are on approved leave Friday. Three people can take the 6:00 to 14:00 open. Priya stays under her hours, Josh would go into overtime, and Ana is fine on rest breaks. Want me to give it to Priya?

Yes, Priya.

A manager asks their assistant to find cover for Friday’s 6am open, sees a preview, and confirms.

What you can ask

The questions you'd normally open five screens for.

“Who can cover Mia’s 6am open on Friday?”

Finds people who are free, qualified and won’t tip into overtime, then offers the shift once you agree.

“Approve the leave requests that don’t clash with the roster.”

Reads each request against the week, approves the clear ones and tells you about the rest.

“Copy last week’s roster to next week and publish it.”

Previews the copy, flags award warnings, and publishes when you say go.

“Is anyone missing from this morning’s shift?”

Checks who was rostered against who has clocked in.

“Does next week’s roster break any award rules?”

Runs the same compliance check as the roster screen and lists every warning.

“How many hours did the Bondi team work this pay period?”

Pulls hours by person and category from the pay period. Amounts only if your business allows it.

Connect in about two minutes

Pick your assistant.

  1. Add Rosterio as a connectorIn Claude, open Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector and paste your connection address.
  2. Sign in to RosterioClaude sends you to the Rosterio sign-in screen. Use your normal Rosterio login and pick your business.
  3. Tick what it can doChoose what Claude may see and change, then press Allow. Ask your first question straight away.

Custom connectors are available on Claude’s paid plans.

The same address works for everyone. Signing in decides whose roster it sees.

Before you startYour business needs AI connections turned on. A System Admin can do that in Settings › API access.

You stay in charge

It only gets the permissions you tick.

When you connect, Rosterio shows you exactly what the assistant is asking for. Viewing is ticked for you. Anything that changes the roster, leave or staff is left for you to choose, and pay amounts are a separate opt-in.

  • It can never do more than your own login can
  • Disconnect it any time from your account
  • A System Admin can switch AI access off for the whole business

Same rules as the app

An AI that can't quietly break your award.

Preview before it saves

Every change can be tried first. The assistant shows you what would happen, and nothing is saved until you say yes.

Award checks still run

Rest breaks, minimum engagement and overtime are checked exactly as they are on the roster screen. Warnings come back to the assistant to tell you about.

Overrides are on the record

If a manager chooses to go ahead past a warning, Rosterio records who did it and that it came from an AI connection.

Staff stay staff

A team member connecting their own AI sees only their own shifts and leave, and can never override a rule.

Build your own screens

Describe the screen you want. Your AI builds it on Rosterio.

Use Lovable, Base44, v0, Bolt or your own developers to make the exact screen your business needs. It runs on your real roster, and the award rules, approvals and permissions still hold, because Rosterio checks every change itself.

A TV in the back of house

Who's on now, who's on break and who's next in, on a screen the whole team can see.

A head-office labour view

Every store's hours and labour cost side by side, the way your franchise reports it.

A staff portal in your brand

Your colours, your name, your shifts and leave. Staff never see the word Rosterio.

Build against a sandbox with sample staff first. Your live data stays untouched until you connect it. Free sandbox on request.

Questions

Does Rosterio see my ChatGPT or Claude chats?

No. Your assistant only sends Rosterio the specific requests it needs, like "list next week’s shifts". Your conversation stays with your AI provider.

Can the AI change things without asking me?

Only if you gave it permission to make changes, and every change can be previewed first. Most assistants also ask you before they use a tool that changes data.

What about pay rates and wages?

Pay amounts are hidden unless your business has opted in and you ticked that permission. Hours and categories are available without them.

Is this the same as Magic Fill?

No. Magic Fill is built into Rosterio and fills a week’s roster in one click. Bring your own AI lets the assistant you already use read and act on your roster. You can use both.

What does it cost?

Nothing extra. It is included on Starter and Pro. Ask us and we switch it on for your business. If you only need the API without the Rosterio apps, the API plan is $4 per user per month, and you can start it yourself from the pricing page.
